Korea eSIM Settings for Samsung and Google Pixel: A Step-by-Step Guide
Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel use different menus to manage an installed Korea eSIM. Follow the steps for your phone to select the travel line for data, apply the correct roaming setting, manage your home SIM, and test your connection after arrival.
The short answer: Turn on the installed Korea eSIM, choose it for mobile data, and apply the roaming setting in your order instructions. Keep home-line data roaming off and disable automatic switching where available. Samsung uses SIM Manager; Pixel uses Network & internet. Follow the section for your phone, then test with Wi-Fi off.
Before You Start
Your exact model must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. A Galaxy or Pixel product name alone is not enough to establish compatibility across every country and carrier variant.

For Pixel, adding a new eSIM starts under Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM on supported versions. Select the installed travel line
Open Settings → Connections → SIM Manager. Find the Korea eSIM, enable it, and give it a clear label if the phone allows.
Under the SIM preferences, choose that line for Mobile data. Some versions instead show a Primary SIM or Preferred SIM setting. Inspect what that option controls on your device, since a primary choice may also affect calls and texts.
Samsung's official dual-SIM guide shows both separate preferences and preferred-SIM layouts. Menu differences are normal; your goal is to assign data to the Korea plan.
Check roaming and switching
Look under Connections → Mobile networks for roaming settings, following the instructions for your selected eSIM. If your phone shows line-specific controls, apply the required roaming setting to the Korea line and keep it off for the home line.
Some Galaxy versions present roaming differently. If it is unclear which SIM a switch controls, confirm with your provider before proceeding with both lines active. Disabling the home line is a straightforward option if you do not need its calls or SMS.
In SIM Manager, turn off automatic data switching or a similarly named fallback option if present. Do not enable backup calling just to obtain a data connection; it can involve your home carrier’s services and terms.

Choose the Korea line for data
Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. Select your Korea eSIM and enable Use SIM if shown. Turn mobile data on and choose the travel line as the default data SIM. Calls, texts, and data can have separate preferences. A data-only travel plan should not be treated as a regular calling plan merely because it appears in the SIM list.
Turn Automatic data switching off where available. If your phone offers Data during calls, leave it off when it would use the home SIM for data. These features and labels vary by Pixel generation and Android version.
Set roaming on the correct SIM
Within the Korea line’s settings, set Roaming according to the plan instructions. Then inspect the home line and keep its roaming off.

Do You Need to Keep Your Home SIM On?
Keeping it active may let you receive verification texts on your regular number, subject to home-carrier support. It can also leave regular calls, SMS, and other carrier services available at overseas rates.

For a trip where you only need app messages and maps, turning the home line off makes it easier to see which connection you are using. Arrange any essential account verification before doing so.
Test Before You Start the Airport Transfer
Turn Wi-Fi off in Settings and load a fresh webpage. Then search for your hotel and request directions. Send a message through your usual internet messaging app.

What If Data Stops After Working Earlier?
